Acoreano Sport Joins Pacific Premier League

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 7, 2025) – The Pacific Premier League announces Acoreano Sport Academy as its newest member.

Formed in 1970 by a group of migrants from the Azores, Acoreano Sport has thrived in the Central Valley, competing in competed in Liga NorCal, the Sacramento Adult Soccer League and the United Premier Soccer League. Former Portuguese internationals Marco Caneira, Simao Sabrosa, Jorge Andrade and Ricardo have played for the club.

“We are excited to welcome Acoreano Sport Academy to the Pacific Premier League," Southwest Premier League Vice President Dennis Pope said. "It’s been the inspiring to see the club’s progression and growth over the last few years, and we think they’ll see the advantages of competing in the SWPL."

Based in Hilmar, Acoreano Sport Academy will begin play in the Pacific Premier League later this month.
